Woman terrified as delivery driver hands her eerie note about 'dangerous' street

A woman has been left feeling uneasy in her own home after her delivery driver handed her an ominous note that described her street as "dangerous" - but for a bizarre reason.

The woman, from Canada, had ordered food via the delivery app DoorDash, and when the driver arrived to hand her the order, a handwritten note was attached to the outside of the bag.

Reading the note sent a shiver down the woman's spine, as the driver - known as a "Dasher" - seemed to claim the road she lived on was "hazardous". At first, the woman believed the Dasher must have come into contact with an angry dog or a rude neighbour, but the wording of the note left her uneasy, as it seemed to claim it was the street itself that "threatened" her.

The woman shared a picture of the note on Reddit, showing it took up both sides of the paper it was written on, and some phrases were highlighted in red pencil.

It read: "Sorry if I took a while! When I arrived down your street, it pulled up and showed me its teeth! (I felt threatened tbh [to be honest]).

"It yelled at me, 'You can't pass down this street! You come any closer, I'll turn you into meat!' (So rude, I actually cried). I saw my life flash, I almost died! Please have a word and let them know Dashers have to bring orders."

On the other side of the page, the delivery driver had left two extra notes, including one which claimed they would "report" the woman's address as "dangerous" in the future.

The note continued: "P.S, I didn't report your street for threats this time, but if it happens again, I'll have no choice. It's too dangerous. P.P.S, I hope your food was great! It's not your fault the street is protective, don't worry. I know you didn't raise it to be like that."

Confused by the strange note, the woman said she contacted DoorDash to see if they could tell them what "threat" the driver had encountered, but claimed the company simply told her they'd file a complaint against the driver on her behalf.

She wrote: "I have no idea what it's about. It sounds like they encountered a mean dog or something, but we don't have a dog, and our neighbour's dog just died. Anyway, I tried asking DoorDash to contact the driver and ask what the 'threat' was since they said they'd report my address as hazardous next time.

"Instead, the DoorDash rep said they filed a complaint against the driver. When I told them that was NOT my intention, they just repeated the same thing and closed the chat. I figured I'd share the note here because it's so odd."

However, a commenter on the post has already cracked the mystery behind the note. The message was signed by the name Kelsey, and it has been claimed that she is an artist in the Vancouver area, where the woman is from. Kelsey often leaves notes with her orders that are supposed to be seen as poems and art pieces that promote her artwork.

The commenter explained: "Kelsey is a local artist who is trying to add weird poems and art cards to garner interest in her art page on Facebook. She's deaf (as noted on the card), so she brings along a partner who helps hand these out. She calls the art cards 'Spirit Animals'.

"Her ramblings and art are certainly something (not my thing), but [it's] harmless."
